Cozumel Island Vacation!?

So my grandma and I are planing to go to Cozumel Island for about 3-5 days. But we are wondering how much it will cost to stay at Cozumel Island (not counting the air ticket). We aren’t wanting to stay in a fancy hotel, or a crappy place. We just want to stay at a decent motel.

I’ve been there many times but I think your best bet financially is to go through a travel agency. They can custom fit your needs and know the tricks. Most all the hotels are of a pretty high standard. Have a great time!

I go to Cozumel every year and have enjoyed the Sol Melia, which is an all-inclusive resort on the beach. It is a 5-minute taxi ride from the airport and town, and is clean, comfortable, well-maintained, has very good food, and has very nice staff. There are 2 pools, one with a swim-up bar and good deep water, for adults only, and the other much larger but shallow for everybody. If you tap “Melia” into your search engine you will find the web site for the Melia chain, and then tap the one in Cozumel — there are photos. As to the rooms, there is a fairly wide range of amenities and prices. All of them are good, so don’t hesitate to get the least expensive — they are large, clean, very well-equipped, and what they do not have is the big “ocean view” (you see the gardens) or a hot tub or a second room and kitchen. By the way, Melia keeps the beaches clean, has towels for the beach, and lots of beach chairs and thatched-roof beach shelters. Also, it is “all-inclusive”, and that means room, all food, and all drinks (yeah, alcoholic drinks, too), so the price is the price.
