A great idea to assist and mainstream students, without sacrificing their culture or holding them back

I ask why not? We don’t have english as our offical language, and spanish is the 2nd most spoken languge in the us. by not giving that option we are putting those kids at a disadvantage.

And since i didn’t see Rod Serling, shattering windows or giant eyeballs i don’t think we’re there.

Well, I ‘ll give you my humble opinion.
I was born in the canal zone making Spanish and English, both my mother tongues. I grew up, on a dual reality, which is very good for me. This has given me skills that I could use to better my position in the work place.
However, my kids who are English speakers are growing in Europe, with another language other than English or Spanish. They were full immersed in that language and the school system gave no concessions for it. The language of the country is Italian, so they were to abide to it. And, this is how it should be in the states. The language of the USA is English, even if it’s not official, everybody should abide to it.
It is Ok to have those students assisted with bilingual teachers, but tests should be taken in the first language spoken in the country…English. Grading those test maybe a bit different taking into consideration the level of English of the student.
Having Spanish be the second language spoken, advantage should be taken to reinforce the learning to this language. Why?
Because we are falling deeply behind…remember I’m, on the other side of the world and European schools are stressing so much the necessity of not only knowing the main European languages: English, German, Italian and Spanish, but Russian, Japanese, Arab and Chinese.
My daughter is multilingual…English, Italian, Spanish and French…but her school also gives her the opportunity of learning oriental and east European languages.
Language certifications from Cambridge University, University of Barcelona and other accerdited institutions across Europe are given at the High school level..these kids leave high school with a strong curriculum, plus Computer Certifications called “Computer Drivers license” are taken at the same level and accepted across borders.
We, Americans need to look around and see all the instruments we have (people is our resource) and use it…’cause we are falling behind…

We used to be the center of the world…now, others do not want to consider us…we need to prepare very well the next generations in order to compete with others…

    Cheers

This is another example of insane liberalism. Liberals say they want to unite America, yet their proposals divide us even more. How do they expect people who cannot even understand each other to be united? In reality, this bilingualism is part of their treasonous plot to weaken America and destroy our national identity.

that’s to make sure their parientes will vote for El mujer de Clinton, fool you should have been able to figure that out, here in Sunny California our ballots are printed in Spanish and the second language is englis,
