Go to Xplor or Xcaret in Playa del Carmen.
Snorkeling off Cozumel is great

Hello Bret! There are a lot of things that you can do in Cancun and Cozumel, like zip line, wave runners, atvs, snorkel, ruins, etc etc, and even if you decide to do the activities in Cancun or Cozumel, you really will enjoy it. I recomend you to take a look at a site where you probably will find a lot of information that will help you to decide to get the best option. I have done all the activities that I am recommending you and I had the best time ever!
