How can I get around a 21+ check-in policy at a Mexican resort?

I’m going to Cabo for spring break, already booked the hotel, but both me and the person I’m traveling with are 19. The hotel lists a 21+ check-in policy for the months of Feb and March, to discourage spring breakers I guess. Has anyone dealt with this before? The credit card that bought the room is in my name, but when they ask for ID I will be forced to show them my passport which shows me underage- will they not let me stay?
Out of respect for the other guests they will not likely be forgiving. You had better call and explain. I hope you bought trip cancellation insurance. Other guests are paying for peace and quiet.
Call the place and ask but policy is policy in high end hotels. You will not to be able to book in under any circumstances because they already have your payment. If however, in February there are not any “spring breakers” they may make an exception.
Use your cancellation insurance and book another hotel. Avoid the grief.
In Mexico people pay a lot of attention to ‘porte’ or how you carry yourself. Dress and act overly professional. Wear a suit and tie at check in. Tip the bellhop well when you walk in and have him carry your luggage. Hold you head high and stroll up to the front desk as if you own the place. As far as they know you just might! Don’t even show a trace of doubt in your voice. Just go to the front desk and slide your credit card over and say “I have a reservation for ___________.” If you look and act the part you should slide right in. Just be on your best behavior the rest of the trip, at least on hotel grounds or you might find yourself with an early checkout!
