How much money will my spouse and I need for a 4 day vacation to Cozumel?
I am going on a cruise ship with a stop in Cozumel. How much money will be needed?

Depends on where you are staying. I have been there 3 times but usually stay at an all-inclusive resort. They are pretty cheap there. If you stay at a place like that than you will only need about $200-$300 and that is only for souveniors, and a trip or two into town, or to rent a car for the day to go around the island.
If you’re spending 4 days in Cozumel I would recommend doing an all inclusive package. The Reef Club is a great resort. If you do the all inclusive package you won’t need much money unless you want to go to town and shop.
There is great shopping in the town square, but you never pay the asking price. As an example I found a hanging hammock chair for $45 and by the time I left the salesperson was down to $14.
You can find just about anything you want in town and it is pretty safe. Try to plan on not using the public bathrooms unless absolutely necessary.
Taxi ride from the airport to the Reef Club is $17 for two people. That’s about the normal price for a taxi anywhere. The island is not very big.
If you go to Chaukanaub Park I believe its about $15 per person per day. Its very nice and probably worth the price.
The first time we went to Cozumel we stayed at the Reef Club and it was $600 for a week plus the all inclusive fee of $50 per day per person.

Well if you have a place to stay and it’s an all inclusive. You’re all-set for the major amount of money you’ll spend for a four day vacation. If you are thinking of gifts and places to shop you’ll have to head into town, San Miguel. From any hotel on the island you’ll pay a flat rate. Check with the front desk and they will tell you. You can spend a full day in town shopping for souvenirs and such, make sure you buy what you like not what they have, Look around. Bring $250.00 each that will cover all you might want to purchase.
Most places take Plastic, yep, the world is turning to all credit so you spend more. If Cruise ships are in port prices will come down. Now negotiate hard for what you want, they love it.
If you are in for a great time, try snorkeling, any resort will set you guys up with all the gear you’ll need. The waters are warm and clear.
My bride and I are on trip #3 in July to the island, we’re trying Park Royal Hotel, five star and located close to town. Have fun
